Summary
The aim is to provide a deep and critical understanding of the ethical challenges associated with the development and use of generative artificial intelligence, enabling participants to identify risks, detect biases and promote the responsible and transparent use of these technologies. The course addresses fundamental ethical principles applied to AI, such as autonomy, justice and non-maleficence, and explores contemporary dilemmas related to human control, model opacity and the generation of malicious content. Tools and metrics for detecting bias and evaluating model fairness are also taught, as well as strategies for improving explainability and traceability. In addition, cases of AI-generated disinformation and media manipulation are analysed, and technical solutions such as watermarking and cryptography are reviewed. Finally, the course examines the role of institutions, regulatory frameworks, and the social responsibility of technology companies, promoting a culture of ethical self-regulation and conscious innovation. This micro-credential is part of the ENIA Chair "A Holistic Approach to the Development of Ethical and Responsible Artificial Intelligence" (TSI-100927-2023-6) funded by the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence and the European Union Next GenerationEU/PRTR
