PhD Track ACADEMIC, ANALYTICAL AND RESEARCH SKILLS FOR PHDS (across thematic areas)

The track consists of taking either or both of the PhD courses offered for T4EU PhDs – Academic Writing and/or Information Search and Information Processing (02 March-15 April 2026). If PhDs opt for following only one of the courses, then they will continue with a series of individual guidance tasks to help them prepare bibliographies, abstracts for papers, presentations for scientific fora, etc. It is also possible to select one the two courses above and another one offered by Sofia University (i.e. EU Language Policies). PhD Track MULTILINGUALISM. EDUCATIONAL AND LANGUAGE POLICIES

Prof. Dr. Nikolina Tsvetkova • Suitable for PhD students from the areas of European Studies, Cultural Studies, Applied linguistics, Language teaching methodology The first part of the track consists of participating in an accredited PhD course online – EU Language Policies (10 March – 15 May 2026) The second part consists of performing a series of research and applied tasks or in developing a paper in the specific area of the PhD research in consultation with Lead advisors of the track. As part of the track PhDs are invited to take part in a Blended Intensive Programme in Multilingualism, Inclusive Learning and Intercultural Dialogue in Sofia, Bulgaria (face-to-face - 11-15 May 2026). Beyond Barriers - Spring School 2026

The University of Silesia in Katowice, as a member of the Transform4Europe alliance, invites doctoral students and Master’s students to the Spring School 2026, entitled: BEYOND BARRIERS: the Role of Social Sciences in building Accessibility. The event will take place in Katowice on June 8-12, 2026. Participation is free of charge – the event is fully funded with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the STER Program and Erasmus+ BIP. Lithuanian Language and Culture Summer and Winter Courses

Each summer (July–August) and winter (January), Vytautas Magnus University offers an intensive one-month Lithuanian Language and Culture Course. This course is open to participants of all ages who wish to learn Lithuanian or enhance their skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The programme provides a well-rounded learning experience that combines language instruction with cultural immersion. Participants benefit from Lithuanian language classes, lectures, workshops, discussions, film evenings, sightseeing tours, and excursions — all designed to deepen their understanding of Lithuanian lifestyle and culture. The course is led by experienced and highly qualified teachers and professors. The Course includes a total of 213 academic hours (equivalent to 8 ECTS credits). The programme consists of classroom instruction, afternoon lectures, conversation practice, independent student work, and a variety of cultural activities, including guided tours and excursions to other Lithuanian cities. Let's Speak Italian!

Italian Conversation Course – Level B1 (10 hours) December 2025 – January 2026 This 10-hour course is designed for learners who already have a basic knowledge of Italian and wish to improve their ability to communicate in everyday situations. Through practical conversation activities, role-plays, and short authentic listening exercises, students gradually develop greater confidence and spontaneity in speaking. The course aims to strengthen functional communicative skills, enabling participants to handle common interactions with native speakers—such as greeting and introducing themselves, asking for and giving information, ordering at a restaurant or café, shopping, finding their way around the city and using public transportation, and expressing needs, preferences, and simple opinions. The approach focuses on oral communication, with special attention to pronunciation, listening, and spontaneous interaction. The lessons, delivered online, are designed to promote a natural and practical acquisition of Italian, helping students use the language with ease and confidence in real-life contexts. BIKE-HEI: Driving Sustainable Innovation - Training Programme for Students on Green Transition, Communication and Entrepreneurship

This training programme equips students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to drive sustainable innovation in business and society. Spanish syntax

This free 10-hour course on Spanish Syntax is designed for learners of all levels who wish to deepen their understanding of sentence structure in Spanish. Open to students of all ages, it is particularly suited for those who are learning Spanish but have still some doubts about the use of verbal moods or who simply want to learn how to use subordinate clauses more effectively. The programme offers a focused and practical learning experience, emphasizing key syntactic structures through clear explanations, examples, and guided practice. Participants will explore topics such as the indicative and subjunctive moods, sequence of tenses, relative and adverbial clauses, and strategies for improving sentence cohesion and complexity. Summer school of Slovene language "Hello, this is the Slovene Mediterranean!"

The Summer Course is intended for all who wish to learn Slovene, from absolute beginners to those who want to improve their language knowledge. It is preferred that the participants are at least 18 years of age. Nine-days language course is held on different levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced. The course comprises 40 periods. The duration of each period is 45 minutes, and there are 5 periods a day (from 9 a.m. to 13.30 p.m.). Upon completion students will be awarded 3 ECTS. All participants of the summer school must pay a fee of €60, which is not covered by the scholarship. The deadline for paying the registration fee is 15th of June 2025.
