Summary

This course aims to develop basic understanding in information society (knowledge society) and modern communication technologies. The content includes concepts of information society (knowledge society); information and telecommunication technologies; information encoding, collection, processing, storage, retrieval and dissemination; global networks; human-computer interaction; activities and services in electronic space; information systems and registries; information reliability and security; legal, social, and ethical aspects and strategies of information society. Students on completion of this subject should perceive basic concepts and processes of information society. Teaching methods are lectures, individual and group work.
